Mrs. Ramsey
Grade 6 Room #603 I’m Cheryl Ramsey and I teach 6th grade at JMA. I have been teaching for 32 years in both the private and public sectors. For the last 16 years I have been teaching 6th grade. I really feel that this is an important age in education. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1982 with a BA in Liberal Studies. My focus during my time at Point Loma was education with a minor in Speech Pathology and Special Education. I am married with one child and two grandchildren. I love my family and enjoy spending time at home with them. Watching the “little ones” grow is a great joy. My mother and brother live close by and we spend many weekend together just talking. Both my mom and I enjoy gardening and have a great time talking about plants and how things grow. This year I have joined with another teacher to create a Gardening Club at JMA. We are teaching Science, Social Studies, and Community spirit through this experience in our garden on campus. I feel that it is important for the students to build their community and this is a good way for them to learn how. As we enter this new year I am reminded of a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “ We shall be known by the content of our character.” Character is important in our society and I believe that teachers and students should be known by their character. Looking forward to a great year. Mrs. Cheryl Ramsey |
